What you get with newborn care in Chennai
Handled for you
- Gentle newborn baths and sponge baths at the temperature you approve
- Baby oil massage and swaddling, following your family's custom or the pediatrician's advice
- Assisting scheduled feeds, burping after every feed, cleaning and organizing bottles
- Hygienic diaper changes and rash-prevention care through the day

- Washing baby clothes and cot linens, sterilizing feeding accessories separately
- Supporting your rest by taking the night wake-ups you need them to take
You arrange
- Medical care — feeding decisions, medications and any clinical concern stay with your pediatrician

Important Note: Newborn baby care workers provide domestic caregiving and non-medical household assistance. They are not registered medical doctors, NICU nurses, or pediatric specialists, and do not replace professional pediatric medical diagnosis, prescriptions, or clinical treatment.
Is this for you?
- Your delivery is next month and no one from family can fly in for the first six weeks.
- You're recovering from a C-section and being awake all night with the baby is setting you back.
- It's your first baby, and you want someone who has done this a hundred times, right beside you.
- Both of you are back at work by month three, and the daytime hours need safe hands.

What Chennai families say
“Post-delivery care was very challenging for us without family nearby. The newborn caretaker arranged by Colours Life Manpower Agency was patient, gentle with the baby's bath and sleep routine, and extremely helpful to the mother.”
Before you decide
The questions worth asking before anyone starts in your home — answered here, so nothing catches you off guard later.
How early should we start looking?
Two to four weeks before your due month. The experienced newborn caretakers get reserved — a March baby and a December baby don't have the same availability.
Will she wake us for every feed?
Agree the night split before she starts. Live-in caretakers take the scheduled night feeds and diaper changes so you sleep in real stretches; you're woken for what only you can do.
My mother-in-law will be here for a month — is that a problem?
It usually helps. Tell us in the first message if another senior family member will be present; duties get arranged around who does what.
Does she do the mother's massage too?
Many do, as an extra agreed between your family and her — with oils you choose. Ask during the introduction; it's never assumed.
What if the baby gets a fever at night?
She is not a nurse and cannot treat illness — she'll bring it to you immediately and stay up with the baby while you call your pediatrician. Keep your pediatrician's night number saved before day one.
Can she handle twins?
Say so in the first message. Twin experience is specific — some caretakers have it, many don't, and you'll only see profiles where it's stated.
What do you need from us in the first message?
Your area, the due month or the baby's age, day shift or live-in, and anything unusual we should know. That's enough to check availability today.
